Lieutenant Governor Tina Smith will be paying a visit soon to Winona.
Smith told Winona Radio News she will be in town on February 24th to meet with officials at Winona State University. The group will discuss the university's Education Village proposal which is seeking final funding from the legislature this session.
Smith says Winona State is earmarked to get nearly 17-million dollars in the Governor's bonding bill for the Education Village. The House and Senate have not released their bonding proposals yet.
Construction has already started on some of the three buildings on Lafayette Street that will make up the Education Village. That work is being paid for by an earlier bonding bill that funded WSU nearly 6-million dollars for preliminary work.......
