MANKATO, Minn. – Olivia Fixsen earned the Warriors five team points on Wednesday by taking fourth place at the 2017 NSIC Heptathlon. Fixsen finished with 4,685 points setting a new school record. Haley Reinke finished with 4,065 points to take ninth; it was the seventh best scores in WSU history.


Fixsen was eighth in the long jump, earning 567 points with her jump of 5.03 meters/16-6 feet. In the javelin Fixsen took third with a throw of 35.13 meters/115-3 feet, she got 574 points in the event. In the final event of the day, the 800 meters, she ran the race in 2:30.43 to get 687 points.


Reinke was sixth in the long jump to take home 623 points after taking sixth in the event. She jumped 5.23 meters/17-2 feet. In the javelin, Reinke was ninth after throwing 29.06 meters/95-4 feet. She would earn 467 points with an 800-meter time of 2:49.71.
