Authorities said a 19-year-old St. Michael, Minnesota woman was taken to Winona Health to be treated for her injuries after she fell off the face of Sugar Loaf and had to be rescued.
Police said the female, whose name was not released, was sitting on top of Sugar Loaf with a second female, and when she got up to go she slipped and fell off the face of the rock
A fire department spokesman said rescuers had to repel down the bluff between 35 and 40 feet with a basket and managed to bring the victim up to be taken by ambulance to Winona Health. The nature of her injuries were not known.
The incident was first reported at 11:00 a.m. and the fire department crews remained at the scene until about 2:30 p.m. Assisting were Winona Police and the Winona County Dive Rescue Team.
