WSU Coaching Changes

Winona State University has made a coaching change for its women's soccer program heading into the 2017 fall season.

Dustin Beckman has been named new interim head soccer coach to replace Ali Omar who started the soccer program at WSU in 1996 and led the Warriors to 11 NSIC championships and six conference titles.

The University says the head coaching position will be opened to a nationwide search after the fall season.

In addition, Pete Watkins was named the director of coaching and operations for the women's soccer team. Watkins previously spent six years as soccer coach at St. Mary's University.

Other changes include the naming of Justin Loehr as the associate athletic director for student-athlete services, and Dave Albrecht as director of athletic communications.
