Xcel Energy has filed a motion to dismiss a verdict in a stray voltage case involving a Trempealeau County dairy farmer.
A Trempealeau County jury awarded Paul and Lyn Halderson 4.5 million dollars after the jury said Xcel Energy was guilty of wanton and willful disregard when it built a power line near th Halderson's property.
The Halderson's sued saying their dairy herd sustained illness and decreased milk production for more than a decade because of stray voltage.
The Trempealeau County Times reports Xcel will also challenge the jury finding of wanton and willful disregard.
A hearing on the motions will be held later this month before La Crosse County Circuit Court Judge Scott Horne.....
