Governor Mark Dayton has appointed a former assistant Winona County attorney to a judgeship in Olmsted County.
Named as the new district court judge was Lisa Swenson who will be sworn in on October First. Swenson will replace Judge Deb Jacobson and will be chambered in Olmsted County.
Swenson is currently the Olmsted County managing attorney for the Office of the Third Judicial District Public Defender. She is responsible for managing and assigning felony cases while maintaining an adult criminal caseload.
In addition to serving as an assistant Winona County attorney, Swenson was also an adjunct professor at Winona State University.
