Winona city taxpayers will face a projected 7-percent increase in their property taxes in 2018.
That's the result of the preliminary 2018 budget approved by the City Council Tuesday evening. It's a budget that includes some 40-million dollars in expenditures.
The council also set December 18th for their annual Truth in Taxation public hearing on the budget. Between now and then the budget amount cannot be increased, but it can be decreased.
