Red Cross Relief-Hurricane

Minnesota Red Cross chapters are doing their part to help the victims of the two hurricanes that struck the southern part of the U-S.

Melanie Tschida, Executive Director of the Southeast Minnesota Chapter, says over 100  volunteers from across the state have been deployed along with the state's five emergency vehicles.

Tschida says the Red Cross has started phase two of its help by issuing financial aid to flood victims in the Texas area first.

Tschida says the Red Cross is actually aiding victims in seven or eight states affected by the hurricanes. They are also helping victims of Hurricane Irma in Florida.
