Voters in the Hayfield School District have approved a 14.3 million dollar bond referendum.
The funds will be added to the 9.7 million dollar grant from Qualified Zone Academy whose funds will be used to upgrade the school building's heating and ventilating systems. The Hayfield district was the first Minnesota school to receive this grant.
The overall 24-million dollar building project will renovate the Hayfield school building and address the heating and ventilating systems.
The voters approved two ballot questions earlier this week, one by a margin of 62-percent to 38-percent...and the other by a margin of 57-percent to 43-percent. Work will begin next spring.
