Winona National Bank has made a $540 donation to the local Team Vogel vs. Cancer organization.
The donation was made possible after Bank employees participated in
"Jeans Days" throughout the summer, choosing to pay $2 each Friday to wear casual jeans during the work day, with the proceeds benefitting a local non-profit organization.
After soliciting nominations from employees, the Bank's Public Relations Committee selected Team Vogel vs. Cancer as the "Summer Jeans Days" benefitting organization.
Team Vogel vs. Cancer is a group of people connected in a fight against cancer. The organization is dedicated to supporting families in the Winona area, as well as donating funds to local cancer research. Since 2010, Team Vogel has helped over 90 families and distributed over $300,000.
The nomination came from Teller Kevin Brackin, who said Team Vogel was very kind in contacting his family and helping them out financially during everything they have been going through. Their slogan is 'Pay It Forward' and he said he wanted to pay it forward to them.
