Winona Senior High School's new REACH program launched this fall, and has become popular with students and has the support of local businesses.

REACH is a collaboration between the school and Minnesota Chambers Of Commerce, with the intention to prepare students for college and careers. Classes are offered in personal development and various types of manufacturing.

The program is geared toward students who want to stay in Winona and find a career. In April, Miller Ingenuity donated $15,000 to REACH. And this month, St. Paul-based Otto Bremer Trust granted the Winona Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation $81,000, which is going entirely to REACH.

Winona High School Principal Mark Anderson says, "I can't wait to see where not only our students take us, but how strong the REACH program will become as we continue to grow the program to encompass more students and career pathways."
