The Miss Winona Scholarship Program will host a Ribs & Kraut fundraiser for the Children’s Miracle Network on Friday, Oct. 13.
For $8.50, you will be treated to music by the Hillbilly Fever Band and a ribs and sauerkraut catered feast.
The meal will include country-style ribs baked in sauerkraut, served with mashed potatoes and gravy, glazed carrots and a roll. The current Miss Winona, Kaylee Pye, will also be at the event.
All the profits will go to the Children’s Miracle Network. Each local winner and “Miss” around Minnesota and in other states is required to raise $500 for the charity. The Miss America Organization as a whole has raised more than $16 million for the Children’s Miracle Network since its partnership began.
Scholarships are also part of the winning when someone is crowned, and in the last 27 years, the Miss Winona program has given out more than $130,000 in scholarships.
The Miss Winona Ribs & Kraut fundraiser begins at 4pm and ends at 7pm this Friday at the Winona American Legion.
