KTTC TV reports the 10 mile walk began at Mayo High School with a ceremony honoring survivors of breast cancer. Join to Journey's executive director says she expects more than $100,000 to be raised for breast cancer research from Sunday's walk.
The event helps increase community awareness regarding breast cancer screening, breast health and support those women and men living with the diagnosis. It is also Join the Journey’s largest and most significant fundraiser, raising most of the annual operating expenses to run its programs and services.
