Voegli--Re-Election---NO

Winona County Second District Commissioner Dwayne Voegli has announced he will not seek re-election in November.

Voegli issued a statement today saying he also does not intend to run for any other elected office next fall.

Voegli, who is also a Winona High School instructor,  is completing his eighth year on the board and said he will retire in order to spend more time with his family.  Voegli said since being on the board the most important issue he has dealt with was the flood of August 2007 and its aftermath.

He said his top priorities over the next nine months include completing the county's Wind Turbine project, finishing the update to the county Land Use Ordinance, and finding the best way to balance the human and financial needs during these tough times.
