The top Minnesota Senate Republican is throwing his support behind Rep. Marty Seifert in the race for governor.
Senate Minority Leader David Senjem of Rochester says he's seen Seifert in pressure-cooker situations and thinks he's
best suited to follow departing Gov. Tim Pawlenty.
Seifert was House minority leader until he gave up the post to run for governor. He is in a tight race with Rep. Tom Emmer for the Republican endorsement. More legislators have announced they are backing Emmer than Seifert.
