Bonding--Lanesboro Dam

Lanseboro officials are hoping Governor Tim Pawlenty doesn't sharpen his veto pen too much when it comes to signing a bonding bill that is going to his desk.

House and Senate lawmakers approved the nearly one billion dollar construction bill Thursday and Representative Greg Davids says it contains some funding for repairs to the Lanesboro dam which is leaking.  However, Davids also says his $900,000 request for Lanesboro was cut in half.

Davids says a request for funds to remodel and repair the Potter Auditorium in Chatfield was also cut to $2 million, and there is funding in the bill for an expansion of the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester and construction of a national volleyball center in Rochester.

Pawlenty has indicated he may trim the bonding bill using his line-item veto before signing it.
