The Winona City Council will meet Monday (tonight) and will hear an update on the latest flood forecasts for the spring season.
Every year the Public Works department follows the proceedures as defined by the Army Corps of Engineers on the appropriate action to be taken for given river elevations.
Also on the agenda, the council will vote on whether to accept 195-thousand dollars from the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency and Greater Minnesota Housing Fund. The funding would help owner occupied homeowners with deferred loans to assist in rehabilitation efforts.
The city is awaiting word on an additional 55-thousand dollars in Federal funding for the project.
The City Council meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall.
Prior to the regular meeting, the council will meet at 6:45 p.m. in the Wenonah Room to discuss the city's proposed Blasting Ordinance. Both meetings are open to the public.
