Hope Lutheran Student

Hope Lutheran High School STUDENT OF THE WEEK is Senior Ryan Bautch. 


Proud parents are Clarence and Shannon Bautch. Sibling is Bailey, 2014 graduate of Hope LHS.


Ryan describes himself as funny, sarcastic, energetic, and athletic. 


His favorite subject is PE. 


His role model is his Dad and Grandpa


His favorite bible verse is from Ephesians 2:8-9 “...for by grace you have been saved…” 


Activities he is involved in are basketball, trapshooting, student council (President), and choir. 


His goals are to go to college and to help others. 


His favorite things to do in his spare time are to hunt, fish, play basketball, and ride his motorcycle.


What he likes best about Hope LHS he says, “I like Hope because everyone knows each other. I have many good friends. The teacher are great...especially the economics teacher."


What teachers had to say about Ryan: “ Ryan is a great help to Hope LHS. He is always willing to help out when needed. He has a lot of energy and uses it wisely. He has matured into a solid leader in our school."

Coy-Winona Health

Certified Physician Assistant Matthew Coy, has joined the Winona Health staff and is caring for patients of all ages at Urgent Care, 420 E. Sarnia Street in Winona, Minn.
“I chose Winona Health because it has a lot to offer service-wise yet it still seems like a family-oriented organization,” said Coy. “The other healthcare providers here seem very open to sharing their expertise, and I’m always striving to learn something new.”
Coy earned his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. He also earned Cytogenetics Certification from the Mayo School of Health Sciences in Rochester, Minn. He received his Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in genetics at Mankato State University, Mankato, Minn. He is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, walleye fishing, golfing and other outdoor activities. Winona Health Urgent Care hours are Monday through Friday 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Urgent Care wait times are updated online during clinic hours. WSU Black Katts

After a competitive opening to the 2016-17 season of DII women’s rugby, the Winona State University Black Katts have earned a spot at #2 in the nation. 

Japan Ambassadors

After a 3-phase selection process, 25 students have been selected to represent our
schools and our community as Japan Ambassadors.  The group had their first meeting
on Monday, September 19 and will begin planning for the Misato Japan delegation that will
be in Winona from October 26-31. Please mark you calendars for the groups upcoming fundraisers as they prepare for their April 2017 cultural exchange to Misato and Tokyo

Winona County GOP

The Winona County GOP has opened a voter registration center at their headquarters office located in the Winona Mall. The registration center is open to all voters and all the supplies necessary to complete the registration process. They also have a staff of volunteers ready to help answer questions, and will be adding more information on polling locations as the election season continues. Voters can register by mail up to 21 days before the election at which point they will be able to do same day registration following the procedures available on
