Stuck in a cooking rut? Need culinary inspiration or just want to try out new recipes? Winona’s newest “little free library,” located in Bluff Country Co-op’s seating area, has been stocked with more than 100 cookbooks for community members to take for free. The library is set up in the same manner as the little free libraries all over town. “Community members can take a cookbook their interested in or leave one they no longer need,” said Marketing Manager Melissa Gordon. The inaugural lot of cookbooks came mostly from a collection owned by WSU professor emiritus Emilio De Grazia. De Grazia has been collecting cookbooks and books on cooking since high school and looked to make his collection smaller when the Blue Heron bookstore closed. Bluff Country Co-op bought them with the goal of establishing a free cookbook library to provide the community with free cooking resources. “We’ve been offering free cooking classes to the community for years now, and this seemed like a natural addition to that program,” said Gordon. For more information on the Co-op’s free classes, visit their Facebook page or website.
