Police Calls 2/26-2/28

(KWNO)- Winona County Sheriff’s Office and Winona Police Department calls from the weekend.

Winona County Sheriff’s Office: 

2/26, 11:51 a.m. A resident reported the door of their home was kicked in along Old Cartway Dr. They are doing an inventory of their home and will alert authorities if anything is missing.

2/26, 11:30 p.m. 26-year-old Paul J. Rivers of Winona was arrested then released on suspicion of DWI. Authorities say he had a 0.09 Blood Alcohol Content (BAC). Officers say he was stopped on Huff St. for a broken taillight, speeding, and poor driving conduct.

2/27, 5:37 p.m. Deputies assisted staff at Whitewater State Park to guide lost hikers out of the woods.

Winona Police Department: 

2/27, 4:00 p.m. A resident reported $25 worth of items in packages stolen from their front porch.

2/27, 11:44 p.m. Police arrested 20-year-old Ryan W. Laatsch of Winona on suspicion of DWI. Officers say there was an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Laatsch’s vehicle in the area of 9th and Center Streets. He had a 0.09 BAC. Officers say they pulled Laatsch over for having multiple objects hanging from the rear-view mirror.

2/28, 8:33 a.m. A resident reported their wallet stolen from their unlocked vehicle at the 300 block of East 8th St. The reporting party told officers their wallet contained $600-$700 in cash, credit cards, and gift cards.

2/28 A resident reported their trailer, valued at $4,000 was stolen. The enclosed trailer is black in color, has four tires and green rims. Its license plate number is  MN 4564-CTJ

2/28, 8:43 p.m. A driver failed to navigate a curve, drove off the road, and struck a tree at the 50 block of Riverview Dr. Police say the driver was responsive and taken to Winona Health by a private party.
